Couldnt fish the past 2 weekends due to the supposedly "bad weather" so Sunday will be the first fishing trip out cant wait
Its only a 4 hour match but every second on the bank counts.
Gunna try a maggot clip for the first time as it scores well in the lake im going to. Would of won the match there a few weeks back but went arse over tip on the peg while playing a fish and the hook pulled!! so that upset me.
Anyway wish me good luck and ill let you no how i got on _________________ The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but obtainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. |

Well today was a shocker got set up with my maggot rig and a pva bag of mags the a women cast out next to me 5 mins alter beeeeeeeeeeeeep she has a fish then it come of thank god lol . Getting a few knocks from the little rudd, roach, bream, etc had that on for an hour reeled in mags chewed to high heaver so i put on a Pro biotic boilie (which scored before) with a bag of mags and chopped pro biotics but low and behold nothing for 3 hours and in that time a chap at the other end of he lake had a 14.12 and 10.04 also a little lad (the one who theives things from you ) had a 12.10 and rain starts lashing it down couldnt puit me bivvy up as i was tight for space so i errect my brolly and the wind almost takes it
How ever i did get to free floats out of it and we all had a right laugh when the women's alarm next to me screamed of only to net the fish and it turned out it was a chub haha.
Sorry i didnt post any pics forgot me to take me phone and my bag is in the shed.
Just hope i have better look down the canal next weekend.

A bloke from the comp on Sunday fished it Friday and had a 22 out on mainline coconut pop-ups (he swears by them but they let him down Sunday haha), you see them jumping all over in he morning 5-8 (shall get there for 5.30) and the owner of the tackle shop said he did a night down there in September and had 17 in total ranging from 3-18lb (he had them on small pineapple dunbell bottoms with a small pva bag of them) seems like fruity baits are the way for them.
Ill have a snow man rig on the one rod (18mm pineapple bottom and a 14mm mainline milk toffee pop-up with a pva bag of chopped and hole pineapple boilies) and the other rod a 18mm pineapple boilie with a small bag of pineapples.
If none of this works then ill switch to the old faithful probiotics
Not going to bother with baiting up as they are hardly fished for and i worry that by baiting up they will think something is up.

I would bait up mate The carp in the canal move around alot. I know from when i was fishin my local canal. I never baitted up and had one or two fish over a few weeks, then started to find the fish had moved on like 2 miles away from where i was fishin So i started to bait up a few days aweek even if i was not fishin it I started to have four or five fish anight I know of the chap from the tackle shop aswell and he will be baittin up for sure _________________

Really,
Well i know for sure where they are mainly due to walking the canal of a morning in the dark and they stay there for a considerable amount of time and Steve has told me the where abouts of the carp on the basin and he didnt bait up from what he told me and when i told him my approach he agreed
Yes Steve, hes a good man took me to is syndicate for a night sesh thats where i had my pb 18.05.
I may bait up the night before tho through in about 1/4 kg pineapple boilies and a pint maggots maybe a pint of hemp?
